<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Aug 24, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3>American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week day shift contract in Rochester, NY, requiring Epic proficiency and a NY RN license in hand.<h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00), every other weekend required</li><li>ICU setting within a community hospital environment</li><li>Patient population ranges from young adults to elderly, with a mix of medical, surgical, and neurological cases including ventilated patients, titratable drips, and substance abuse withdrawal</li><li>Diagnoses include cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and GI system diseases, as well as post-operative patient management</li><li>Patient ratio of 1:3</li><li>Special procedures include A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, and open abdomens</li><li>Glidescope experience utilized in this unit</li><li>Epic EMR — experience required</li><li>Floating required to med/surg unit</li><li>Local candidates not accepted — must reside more than 75 miles from the facility</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active NY RN license required and must be in hand</li><li>Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS</li><li>Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required</li><li>Experience with 1:3 patient ratios required</li><li>Epic EMR experience required</li><li>Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis)</li><li>Required clinical skills include: arterial line and central line management, PICC line care, blood product administration, port access, IV therapy, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, suctioning (ETT and NT), fresh tracheostomy care, chest tube assist, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, procedural sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, IV insulin protocols, CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, GI surgery experience, multisystem organ dysfunction management, emergency medication administration, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Charge nurse experience preferred</li><li>Community hospital experience preferred</li><li>Navy and/or white scrubs required (any combination)</li><li>RTO is limited to a maximum of 10 days for the duration of the assignment</li><li>Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a gap of at least 1 year before returning</li><li>2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration</li><li>Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration</li><li>All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration</li><li>Candidates with foreign education should be prepared for additional verification</li></ul>
