      <h2>Job Description</h2>
      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MD or compact RN license, with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a hospital medical-surgical telemetry unit</li><li>Cares for an adult and geriatric patient population</li><li>Patient ratio is typically 1:5</li><li>Common cases include CHF, chest pain, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, post-amputation care, small bowel obstruction, dysrhythmias, cancer, and palliative care</li><li>Performs EKGs and manages non-titratable drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and Lasix</li><li>Uses telemetry equipment, IV pumps, oxygen, tele monitoring, pulse oximeter, vital signs machines, SCDs, bed and chair alarms, chest tubes, and Foleys</li><li>Monitor techs support telemetry monitoring</li><li>Uses tele monitoring systems in the unit</li><li>Scheduled for night shifts (3x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30)</li><li>Every other weekend is required</li><li>Works assigned holidays as scheduled</li><li>Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed</li><li>On-call not required</li><li>Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, managing IV drips within parameters, and providing care for complex medical-surgical patients</li><li>Travelers are first to float and must be comfortable floating within their scope</li><li>Modules and unit-based orientation are provided</li><li>RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted with initial application and cannot be adjusted post-offer</li><li>RTO should not exceed 7 days, and more than 4 consecutive days of RTO will extend the contract</li><li>Most units allow for one major holiday off during the winter season</li><li>Block schedules or other schedule restrictions cannot be guaranteed</li><li>Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals under 50 miles are not eligible</li><li>Return staff must be away at least 12 months before returning as travelers, and return travelers require a 6-month break between contracts</li><li>Required to complete labs within 72 hours of contract signing</li></ul>
          
      <h2>Requirements</h2>
      <ul><li>Active MD or compact RN license required at the time of consideration</li><li>Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required (AHA accepted for BLS/ACLS)</li><li>Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele RN experience required</li><li>Must provide two professional references from recent employers, including one supervisor or manager and one charge RN</li><li>Experience with adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients required</li><li>First-time travelers are accepted</li></ul>
