This is a fantastic hospital that’s slowly declining due to high turnover resulting from poor compensation, burnout, and the shareholders continually trying to get more for less. The workers recently unionized, hopefully things improve. The benefits and culture at the U are much better than Intermountain.

The U is an educational gold mine, it is truly superior care due to that aspect however, they’re lacking severely when in comes to allocating resources towards equipment and most importantly their staff. There are limited or broken VS carts, Dopplers, manual BP cuffs. Day to day supplies are either not stocked or are on back order. They constantly stretch their staff thin or push you over their set in place ratios. The pay is absurdly low for SLC cost of living and well below the national average. Overall it is very disappointing to work for such a highly skilled facility that falls short in their staffs fundamental needs.
