Picked up here as a local agency RN and really loved the work environment. Night shift crew was very helpful and supportive. Ratio is 1:5-7. They have some great charge RNs. Only thing is the compensation - too low for me to become their staff.

The nurses and pct’s that work here are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The work load is ridiculous and unsafe. Management is terrible,they will promise bonuses and then not follow through. The wage for a staff nurse is not competitive. The doctors most often will want to monitor rather than act putting the patients at risk. Your license will be compromised in a regular bases, you do not have the proper support and although they claim to be an ICU they do not have the recourses on site that you will need to handle a critical patient and you will have to send the patient out. You may not have the support of the doctor in these circumstances and will have to call 911. They hire brand new nurses with no experience and expect them to care for FOUR critical patients with no other qualified nurse on the unit with only 4 training shifts on the unit. Very unsafe for all. Management will refer to you as a “warm body”. They’d rather have a “warm body” than a qualified nurse that they have to pay a decent wage. Terrible place to work. This is a wound specialty hospital and you will be expected to do wound care on all these patients on top of everything else. Some wound vacs take an hour to do meanwhile you have 5 other pts to care for if on med surg and 3 other criticals if on ICU.
