Pros
While many of the floor staff are friendly and helpful. The Cody community is tight knit and many of the patients are much more friendly than average. The workload is generally very manageable and easygoing. Cody can be reasonably affordable if youre not starting in the middle of tourist season. It is right outside of Yellowstone which makes for some fun weekends. There's also a lot of great opportunities for hunting, fishing and shooting. It is easy to make relationships with ranchers and farmers and buy high quality meats and produce for very cheap.
Cons
The relationship with management feels distant and disjointed and the hospital seems to lack a direction towards innovation and improvement. Due to the nature of West Park being a critical accesss hospital, patient acuity and census is generally quite low which would not make a great fit for those seeking higher challenges, skill development, and fast pace. The winters can be absolutely brutal so you will need a vehicle that can handle snow and ice. During peak tourist season, the town gets very crowded and rentals may be hard to find. Those used to big city life with lots of amenities , restaurant, choices, and nightlife may find Cody lacking and a bit rough around the edge although this is a pro for others.
