Cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA) to join our surgical team. This position offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on delivering quality cardiac care. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support during surgical procedures and will be responsible for a range of tasks critical to patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing during cardiac surgeries.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABGs).
• Collaborate with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Participate in DaVinci robotic cases (preferred but not required).
• Scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgical cases, including CABGs, structural heart cases, minimally invasive procedures, and heart failure interventions (preferred but not required).
• Contribute to the care of patients undergoing heart transplant surgeries (experience preferred).

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac RNFA.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
• Telemetry experience.
