Electrophysiology Monitoring Technician

Schedule

• Primarily Day Shifts with some Evening Shifts
• On-call as per unit needs
• Shifts Available: 4x10 or 3x12 hour options

Main Responsibilities

The Electrophysiology Monitoring Technician will provide essential assistance to the Electrophysiologist during various electrophysiology studies, ablations, and cardiac implant procedures. The role includes the following key functions:

• Assist in the operation and monitoring of electrophysiology pacing systems and devices.
• Facilitate the setup and operation of GE (MacLab & CardioLab) systems, while coordinating with multiple vendors such as Carto, Abbott, and Rhythmia during ablations.
• Implement and execute pacing maneuvers and ensure measurements are accurately recorded.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff and ensure the availability of all necessary equipment and supplies.
• Assist in maintaining efficient room turnover and ensuring timely patient care by coordinating with the Charge Nurse and third-party vendors.

Job Requirements

• Licensure: RCES or Radiologic Tech license is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant field.

Certifications

• BLS certification (American Heart Association only).

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience.
• Experience with GE (MacLab & CardioLab) systems.
• Familiarity with Bloom stimulators.
• Experience with Epic documentation system.

Typical Procedures

The procedures performed within this role may include:

• RF and cryo ablations for Atrial Fibrillation, Flutter, Atrial Tachycardia, AVNRT, WPW, and other ANRT conditions using mapping systems like Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott Ensite/Precision, and Rhythmia.
• Device implants including traditional pacemakers (single, dual, CSP, BiV), ICDs, Subcutaneous ICDs, leadless pacemakers, loops, and left atrial appendage closure devices such as Watchmans and Amulets.
• High-risk electrophysiology procedures, including laser and low-risk interventions.
