Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced Emergency Room. This role requires both clinical expertise and the ability to handle various patient cases including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in emergency care and have the necessary certifications to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in alignment with established protocols and standards.
• Perform tasks including IV starts, triage, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation.
• Manage non-critical patient ratios of 3:1, and critical patient ratios of 2:1.
• Monitor and support medical boarders in the emergency department with a 5:1 ratio.
• Participate in team efforts to ensure continuity of care and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in nursing.
• Certifications Required: TNCC, ACLS, NIH, MOAB, and BLS.
• Preferred Skills: ENPC and trauma experience.

Shift and Scheduling

• Contract Length: 48-hour contracts and 13-week contracts available until February 27, 2027.
• Shift Timing: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
• No call or float requirements.

Patient Care Environment

The Emergency Room handles approximately 170 visits per day with 53 rooms/beds available for patient care. The unit utilizes the PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems for efficient workflow.

Additional Information

• Orientation: 36 or 48 hours, based on contract agreement.
• Scrubs: Navy Blue attire is required.
• Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
• There is a strict policy against block scheduling.
