Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in high acuity and fast-paced environments, particularly in high-risk obstetrics. This position requires skilled nursing care for both mothers and newborns during delivery and postpartum stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Function as a Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous care until transfer to postpartum.
• Perform assessments and provide necessary care for newborns, including administering eye drops and Vitamin K injections.
• Circulate during deliveries and ensure safety and effective care practices are followed.
• Collaborate effectively with midwifery clients and private OBs, as well as support adult recovery services and community care clinics.
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and adhere to AWHONN guidelines for staffing and care.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, ensuring compliance with clinical practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, with a preference for candidates with 5 years of high-risk experience.
• 2 years of experience in a high acuity and fast-paced environment is required.
• Current supervisory references are essential.
• Proof of required certifications upon submission is mandatory.
• Must pass a clinical review and provide proof of current Nursys verification.

Certifications

• Required: BLS, NRP
• Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate

Other Details

• Must be available to float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.
• Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required.
