Position Overview

The Med Surg Float position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in various medical surgical units. The position is designed for nurses who can adapt to different clinical environments while maintaining excellence in patient management and bedside care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and support across multiple medical surgical units.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Utilize clinical skills to monitor patient progress and identify changes in conditions.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families on treatment procedures and health management.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
• Epic experience is required for electronic medical record management.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not necessary.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, variable environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements

• Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are required.
• Completion of various competency exams and health history checks prior to onboarding.
• Reliable transportation may be needed for potential travel between different medical units.

Stipend and Incentives

This position currently offers a monthly stipend for local housing. Additional incentives may be available for eligible out-of-area candidates, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Contract Duration

This is a 13-week contract position with a full-time commitment of 36 hours per week.
