Summary

Join our team at WCS Healthcare Partners as a Registered Nurse in the ICU, where you'll play a critical role in providing care to patients in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This travel position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a community hospital setting while working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a 10-bed ICU unit.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:2 during day, night, and weekend shifts.
• Float to the Emergency Department for boarders as needed, without taking assignments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more.
• Perform advanced nursing skills such as arterial line management, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac drips.
• Administer emergency medications and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.

Requirements

• Permanent Massachusetts nursing license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical ICU and Surgical ICU.
• Community hospital experience is required.
• Must have ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Must pass a Medication Exam and a Telemetry Exam during orientation.
• Flu vaccine required, with medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed.

Additional Information

• Work schedule includes 36 hours per week, with 3x12 night shifts (7p – 7a) and every third weekend required.
• Orientation includes 24 hours of training.
• Must be able to work all 7 days.
• Modules are completed pre-start, during orientation, and annually.
