Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, managing acute and critical conditions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including required drips and medications such as pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation medications.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun for patient care.
• Document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, EPIC.
• Participate in patient triage and prioritize care based on patient needs and acuity.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting, with pediatric experience preferred.
• Current and active NY RN License.
• Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts from 10:30AM to 11:00PM, with possible floating to other units as required.
• Proficiency in handling common patient diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Ability to wear navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code.
