Summary
Join WCS Healthcare Partners as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, located in the vibrant city of Utica, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing critical care to a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, managing acute and critical conditions.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including required drips and medications such as pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation medications.
- Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun for patient care.
- Document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, EPIC.
- Participate in patient triage and prioritize care based on patient needs and acuity.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting, with pediatric experience preferred.
- Current and active NY RN License.
- Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts from 10:30AM to 11:00PM, with possible floating to other units as required.
- Proficiency in handling common patient diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
- Ability to wear navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code.
