As a part of our Intermediate Care Unit, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality care to adult patients who require specialized attention. This role offers a chance to work in a tertiary care hospital with a multidisciplinary approach, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed critical care step-down unit.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Administer IV therapy, including peripheral line care and management.
• Provide respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management.
• Implement isolation precautions and adhere to PPE protocols.
• Administer and manage blood products and medications, including insulin drips and vasoactive drips.
• Perform wound care and manage wound vacs.
• Care for patients with various diagnoses, focusing on pulmonary conditions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a similar setting.
• Current NY nursing license.
• Experience with EPIC charting system.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Proficiency in telemetry and intermediate care unit skills.
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and phlebotomy.
• Ability to manage a variety of patient care needs, including airway management and IV therapy.
