Summary
WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team in Gardner, MA. Responsibilities
- Conducts interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner
- Advocates to ensure privacy and confidentiality while helping others to maintain awareness
- Maintains a clean and safe hospital environment
- Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations
- Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions/plans of care/patient goals
- Provides patient care based on standards of care and established policies and procedures
- Collaborates with surgeon, anesthesiologist, and surgical technicians to assure the patients' well-being during surgical intervention
- Maintains sterile fields and directs the correct care, handling, and sterilization of sterile supplies and instruments
- Identifies patients correctly by checking patient identification bands and consent forms
- Applies principles of aseptic practice and oversees the selection and preparation of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for all surgical cases
- Maintains sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policies and procedures
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 2 years of O.R. nursing experience; CNOR strongly preferred
- Current MA RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP certification required
- Ability to function in an environment with competing priorities is a must
- Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and a can-do attitude
