Key Responsibilities

• Medication Management:
  • Administer daily medications, including controlled substances
  • Ensure inmate compliance with medication regimens
• Clinical Care:
  • Take vital signs and conduct physical assessments
  • Dress wounds and conduct health screenings
• Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility
• Documentation:
  • Accurately record inmate health data, updates, and treatments
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow strict security protocols while providing care

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licensure:
  • Current, valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State (or a limited permit)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, or mental health preferred
• Skills:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Composure in emergency situations
  • Ability to work with a diverse offender population
• Certifications:
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
