Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit.
• Manage patient care for individuals requiring specialized attention, including airway management, BiPAP support, and IV infusions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Services.
• Interpret and manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmias, and emergency response protocols.
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage central and peripheral lines.
• Administer and monitor respiratory support techniques, including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care.
• Deliver specialized care for patients with renal failure, traumatic brain injury, and substance withdrawal.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care or step-down unit.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg.
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory management.
• New York nursing license must be in hand.
• Willingness to work night shifts and every other weekend.
• Must be located outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.
