Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a general Med Surg unit with an emphasis on oncology.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips effectively.
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, and Pharmacy.
• Administer medications, including antibiotics, antiemetics, corticosteroids, and narcotic agents.
• Manage and care for ports, colostomy/ileostomy, Foley catheters, and PICC lines.
• Implement isolation precautions and use PPE as necessary.
• Monitor and assess medication tolerance and dependence.
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage side effects.
• Perform wound care and start/maintain IVs.

Requirements

• Must hold a permanent MA RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience, including Med Surg/Telemetry experience.
• Oncology experience is preferred.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Must be able to work every other weekend and holiday.
• Prior experience with Epic charting is highly preferred.
• Flu vaccine is required, with medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed.
