Licenses & Certifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current NYS RN license required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and ability to provide quality patient care
• Ability to assess patient needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects
• Recognize safety issues and implement safe patient handling techniques
• Ability to function well in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation for a safe OR/ASU environment
• Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs

Responsibilities

• May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse
• On call required with a response time of 30 minutes
