Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes in the operating room.
  • Prepare and maintain operating room for all surgical procedures, ensuring sterility and proper equipment functionality.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes in patient condition during surgery.
  • Assist surgeons during operative procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, post-operative care, and recovery expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room setting.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
  • Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
