Description
Join our dedicated team at a premier Level IV NICU in Hartford, CT, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our youngest patients. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in a Level IV NICU setting.
- Administer medications, including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, antivirals, and insulin.
- Perform APGAR scoring, blood glucose monitoring, and arterial line management.
- Support breastfeeding and handle breast milk appropriately.
- Manage central lines, including blood draws and care for implanted lines.
- Provide developmental care and support for neonates with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, respiratory distress syndrome, and seizure disorders.
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and manage post-surgical care.
- Educate and support patients' families, ensuring they are informed and comfortable with care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, with Level 4 experience required.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:3.
- Travel experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and a valid State License or Compact License.
- Flexibility to work a rotating D/N schedule, including weekends as needed.
- Ability to float to PICU/Med Surg as required.
