Description
Join our dynamic team in New Haven, CT, a vibrant city known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and excellent quality of life. This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity MICU and Stepdown unit, providing critical care to patients with complex medical conditions. WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking dedicated and experienced RNs to deliver exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Stepdown Unit (SDU).
- Manage patient assignments, primarily in the SDU (3:1 ratio), with occasional ICU coverage.
- Float to other units as needed, including PCU and other ICUs.
- Monitor and interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
- Administer and manage continuous IV sedation and central line care.
- Implement isolation precautions and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a critical care setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Proficiency in arterial line management and care of ventilated patients.
- Experience with managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Willingness to work 3x12 night shifts and every other weekend (EOW).
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.
