Description

Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Neuro ICU, including those with conditions such as SAH, SDH, and neuro trauma.
- Perform and assist with special procedures such as EVD placements, arterial and central line placements, intubation, and lumbar drain management.
- Manage and monitor advanced medical equipment, including ventilators, CVVH, and EVD systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro ICU or similar critical care setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required.
- Experience with trauma level I or II preferred.
- Strong skills in managing acute kidney injury, arterial line management, and care of ventilated patients.
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
- Proficiency in handling emergency medications and managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs, including ICU and PCU areas.
