Description

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU.
- Manage and monitor patients with complex medical conditions, including acute respiratory failure, sepsis, liver/renal failure, post-cardiac arrest, and GI bleed.
- Perform arterial line management, central line care/management, and continuous IV sedation.
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias, and manage patient care with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Adhere to isolation precautions and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Float to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- NIHSS certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Epic charting system is a plus.
- Ability to work 4x12-hour night shifts, including weekends.
- Willingness to work every other weekend (EOW).
- Strong skills in arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and management of dysrhythmias.
