Description
Join our team at WCS Healthcare Partners in New Haven, CT, where you'll have the opportunity to work in a high-acuity medical intensive care unit. This role offers a dynamic and supportive environment, ideal for a dedicated RN seeking to make a meaningful impact in critical care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) with a patient ratio of 1:3.
- Float as needed to Progressive Care Units (PCU), other ICUs, and SRC campus.
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, and care for ventilated patients.
- Administer continuous IV sedation and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
- Handle isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Participate in interdisciplinary support and special procedures as required.
- Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred.
- Experience with Epic charting system is an advantage.
- Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and take on-call shifts as required.
- Ability to float to different units as needed.
