Description

Join our dynamic team at WCS Healthcare Partners in New Haven, CT, a vibrant city known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and world-class educational institutions. As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float Pool, you will have the unique opportunity to work across multiple ICU specialties at both the Yale New Haven Hospital and the Saint Raphael campus. This role offers a stimulating environment for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in various ICU specialties.
  • Float between two campuses, adapting to different ICU environments as needed.
  • Perform arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, and continuous IV sedation.
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and monitor pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz catheters.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic charting system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required.
  • Active RN license; CT license required before start date.
  • Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Strong skills in managing arterial lines, ventilated patients, and central lines.
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
  • Flexibility to float between different ICU specialties and step-down units.
