WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced  Post‑Anesthesia Nurse (PACU  RN) for a contract assignment at a prestigious hospital in West Islip, NY. This role is ideal for a nurse who excels in fast‑paced recovery environments and provides safe, compassionate care to patients emerging  from anesthesia.  

Job Function:  

• Day Shift or Night Shift.
• 6am-6:30pm or 9pm-9:30am.
• Provide individualized, emotionally supportive post‑operative nursing care  in accordance with  anesthesiologist and attending physician instructions.  
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, airway status, pain level, and level of consciousness per  PACU  protocols.  
• Assist  anesthesiologists and attending physicians during post‑operative recovery as needed.  
• Document all nursing activities thoroughly, including writing a discharge note once the anesthesiologist clears the patient for transfer.  
• Ensure  all  PACU  equipment and supplies are stocked, functional, and readily available.  
• Maintain a safe environment and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.  

Job Requirements:

• 2 years of recent ICU or PACU experience

• Critical Care PACU experience required

• PACU and CCU experience preferred, especially Phase I recovery

• Certifications:

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • PALS

• NY State RN license
