Description
WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in New York City. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident caring for patients experiencing life‑threatening conditions.
Job Function:
- Night Shift.
- 3x12: 7PM-7:30AM.
- Manage the care of adult and/or pediatric patients with critical, life‑threatening conditions requiring rapid assessment and high‑intensity interventions
- Provide emotional support, education, and clear communication to patients and families during emergency situations
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, recognizing when early intervention is needed
- Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostic procedures
- Perform essential emergency procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood draws, and airway support (intubation assistance)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Job Requirements:
Certs (BLS, PALS, ACLSTNCC, NIHSS)
Minimum 2 years RN experience
2 years Trauma Level II & Pediatric ED experience required
1 year travel experience preferred (not required for per diem)
EPIC experience highly preferred
Active NYS RN License
BSN preferred (ASN accepted with relevant experience or BSN matriculation)
