Local Contract Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced  Labor & Delivery RN  to join a high‑performing  L&D team at a respected hospital in Boston, MA. The ideal clinician is confident in fetal monitoring, labor management, emergency response, and supporting providers throughout the childbirth process.  

Job Function:  

• Rotating Shift.
• Assess and categorize patients into the  appropriate level  of care  
• Apply and interpret  external fetal monitoring, including fetal heart tracings and uterine activity  
• Implement  timely  interventions based on fetal heart rate patterns and maternal condition  
• Identify  and respond to obstetric emergencies, escalating to providers appropriately  
• Administer medications safely  in accordance with  the  Five Rights  and infection‑control standards  
• Perform pain assessments and reassess per clinical guidelines  
• Assist  physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care  

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing  (BSN)  
• Minimum 2 years of OB inpatient experience: Labor & Delivery or Antepartum

• Active RN license (state or compact)

• BLS, ACLS  and NRP  certifications  from the American Heart Association  

• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
