Description
WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Step‑Down RN for a contract assignment at a prestigious hospital in New York City, NY. This role is ideal for a nurse who excels in high‑acuity environments, uses strong critical‑thinking skills, and delivers patient‑centered care grounded in evidence‑based practice.
Job Function:
- Day Shift.
- 3x12: 7am-7:30pm.
- Deliver high‑quality patient care using the principles of Relationship‑Centered Care, integrating theory, research, and evidence‑based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs while applying strong critical‑thinking skills to guide clinical decision‑making.
- Integrate comprehensive assessment and intervention skills into all aspects of nursing care.
- Prioritize patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and appropriate delegation.
- Educate patients and caregivers about the plan of care, transitions of care, health promotion, and disease prevention—anticipating needs and readiness to learn.
Job Requirements:
Active NYS RN License.
BSN required.
BLS & ACLS required.
Minimum 2 years of cardiology, telemetry, or VAD experience.
Minimum 2 years RN experience.
Ventilator experience required (must be listed on resume).
1 year travel experience (required for travel roles; not required for per diem).
EPIC experience highly preferred.
