WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced  Step‑Down RN for a contract assignment at a prestigious hospital in New York City, NY. This role is ideal for a nurse who excels in high‑acuity environments, uses strong critical‑thinking skills, and delivers patient‑centered care grounded in evidence‑based practice.  

Job Function:  

• Day Shift.
• 3x12: 7am-7:30pm.
• Deliver high‑quality patient care using the principles of  Relationship‑Centered Care, integrating theory, research, and evidence‑based practice.  
• Assess and  evaluate  patient needs while applying strong critical‑thinking skills to guide clinical decision‑making.  
• Integrate comprehensive assessment and intervention skills into all aspects of nursing care.  
• Prioritize patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and  appropriate delegation.  
• Educate patients and caregivers about the plan of care, transitions of care, health promotion, and disease prevention—anticipating  needs and readiness to learn.  

Job Requirements:

• Active NYS RN License.

• BSN required.

• BLS & ACLS required.

• Minimum 2 years of cardiology, telemetry, or VAD experience.

• Minimum 2 years RN experience.

• Ventilator experience required (must be listed on resume).

• 1 year travel experience (required for travel roles; not required for per diem).

• EPIC experience highly preferred.
