Description
WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Chronic Hemodialysis RN for a contract assignment at a well-established Outpatient Dialysis Center in Syracuse, NY.
Job Function:
- Day Shift.
- Recognizes aspects and implications of patient status that vary from normal and reports to or collaborates with appropriate health team members for input.
- Assesses daily assigned patient care needs and collaborates with direct and ancillary patient care staff as needed.
- Directs and provides, in collaboration with dialysis technicians and ancillary staff, all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective delivery of chronic hemodialysis therapy to assigned outpatients.
- Monitors patients throughout treatment for complications such as hypotension, cramping, or vascular access issues, and intervenes appropriately.
- Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness.
- Assesses and monitors vascular access sites (AV fistulas, grafts, catheters) for patency and signs of infection or complications.
- Ensures dialysis machines and equipment are properly set up, disinfected, and maintained in accordance with outpatient clinic protocols and regulatory standards.
Job Requirements:
- Active NYS license.
- 2 years of experience.
- BLS.
