Description
WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in Brooklyn, NY. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN with advanced cardiac monitoring skills and a passion for delivering high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced acute care environment.
Job Function:
- Shift & Hours: 35 hrs | 3x 11.5 Day.
- Monitor cardiac activity using EKG equipment and continuously track heart performance.
- Analyze EKG results, identify abnormalities, and document findings accurately.
- Oversee and support cardiac stress testing procedures.
- Provide emergency interventions for cardiac events and other life‑threatening conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, medications, and follow‑up care prior to discharge.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of Telemetry/Cardiology experience + prior travel experience required.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
- Rotations & Call: Every other weekend (EOW) and some holidays required; no call.
- Unit Environment: 25-bed Telemetry / Cardiology Step-Down unit.
- Patient Ratio: 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Floating: Required to float to all telemetry and medicine units.
