Description
WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join a high‑performing L&D team at a respected hospital in Concord, MA. The ideal clinician is confident in fetal monitoring, labor management, emergency response, and supporting providers throughout the childbirth process.
Job Function:
- Shift: 40 hrs/ 5x8 Days | Monday – Friday | 5x8s | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Assess and categorize patients into the appropriate level of care
- Apply and interpret external fetal monitoring, including fetal heart tracings and uterine activity
- Implement timely interventions based on fetal heart rate patterns and maternal condition
- Identify and respond to obstetric emergencies, escalating to providers appropriately
- Administer medications safely in accordance with the Five Rights and infection‑control standards
- Perform pain assessments and reassess per clinical guidelines
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of obstetrical nursing experience required
- Demonstrated leadership abilities required
- Evidence of continued professional growth and knowledge of current nursing trends
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
- Current Massachusetts RN license required
- BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required
- NRP Certification required
- Inpatient Obstetric Nursing Certification preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage staffing and operational priorities in a dynamic clinical environment
