WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced  Operating  Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in Connecticut. This role is ideal for an OR nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering safe, high‑quality perioperative care.  

Job Function:  

• Shifts: 4x10 Rotating (40 hours)
• Document all patient care accurately, completely, and promptly in the facility EMR  
• Prepare the  operating  room for procedures and  assist  with room turnover  
• Assist  with patient positioning and ensure comfort and safety throughout the procedure  
• Handle and label specimens according to policy  
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection‑control standards  
• Identify  and  initiate  corrective actions when necessary  
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure efficient workflow  

Job Requirements:

• 4 to 5 years of dedicated OR RN or combined surgical experience is required upon submission.

• Circulating Competency: Must be highly experienced in circulating. You must be able to perform independently in (this independence must be clearly verified on your skills checklist).Orthopedics, Spine, and Neurosurgery

• Scrub Experience: Highly preferred but not required. Candidates who can scrub complex neuro, spine, vascular, and orthopedic cases—and who are comfortable managing DaVinci robotic cases—will be prioritized.

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

• Vaccine Policy: COVID-19 medical or religious exemptions are accepted.
