WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a  Mother  Baby Registered Nurse  for a contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital in New Jersey.  

Job Function:

• Shifts: 1x12 Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Categorizes patients in the appropriate level of classification.  
• Identifies  emergency  situations, observes  age  and notifies provider accordingly.  
• Administers medication according to the 5 rights of safety and infection control guidelines and or per Provider's orders.  
• Screens patients for pain during the initial assessment and reassess according to  guidelines  

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of related Mother-Baby / Postpartum / Couplet Care experience.

• System Experience: Epic charting experience is required.

• Background Policy: Clean record required. Open or active background check hits and/or license hits will not be accepted.

• Former Staff Policy: Former RWJBarnabas Health staff (full-time or PRN) must be fully separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible.

• Nursing License: Active New Jersey state license or a Compact license required at the time of submission.

• Required Certifications:

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

  • AWHONN Beginner / Intermediate

  • EFM (External Fetal Monitoring)

• Unit Profile: The unit manages both antepartum and postpartum patients.

• Key Procedures: Experience with circumcisions (and post-op site assessment), fetal monitoring, CCHD screening, and car seat testing/education.

• General Maternal-Child Skills: Couplet care, Level 1 nursery, postpartum hemorrhage management, NSTs, phototherapy, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, and breastfeeding instruction.
