Description
A prominent acute care facility in New York is seeking a highly skilled, autonomous Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This role requires a seasoned critical care clinician equipped to manage high-acuity trauma and complex medical patients on the night shift.
Job Function:
- Shift & Hours: Nights, 7pm to 7:30am (EOW & HOL as needed)
Manage acute trauma patients of varying severities. Demonstrate complete efficiency in managing External Ventricular Drains (EVD) and performing critical care assessments using CAM, CPOT, and RASS scoring systems.
Utilize Hemosphere FloTrac equipment for advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Safely calculate, initiate, and titrate multiple complex medication drips, emergency medications, and Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) pumps.
Direct and oversee targeted temperature management/hypothermia treatments, and manage patients utilizing Pleur-evac chest tube drainage systems.
Maintain precise, real-time medical charts using the Allscripts EMR system. Observe strict infection control protocols, including rigid isolation precautions and meticulous hand hygiene ("gel in, gel out").
Job Requirements:
A strict minimum of 3 years of recent acute care ICU experience is required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a higher degree from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Verified De-escalation Certification
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) are preferred but not required.
