Local Contract Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Labor and Delivery Nurse a for a 13-week, 26-week and long-term temp contract assignments at a Prestigious Hospital in Somerset, NY.  

Job Function:

• 3x12's Nights-EOW
• Categorizes patients  in  the  appropriate level  of classification.  
• Applies external fetal monitor and interprets fetal heart tracing and uterine activity.  
• Implements intervention appropriately based on fetal heart rate pattern and maternal status during labor.  
• Identifies  emergency situations,  observes  age  and notifies provider accordingly.  
• Administers medication according to the 5 rights of safety and infection control guidelines and or per Provider's orders.  
• Screens patients for pain during the  initial  assessment and reassess according to guidelines.  
• Assists  the physicians/midwife during a delivery  

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing  (BSN)  
• Current RN license for the state of New Jersey
• 2  years of L&D RN experience is required  
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications  from the American Heart Association  are required  
• Resume, Cover Sheet, References x2, Skills Checklist
• Trauma level I or II experience required
• Experience with Peds, Triage, STMEl and Stroke Experience required
• Float required- Will not float outside of ED- May float between Paterson and Wayne
• Parking: $50/month- ID badge is $10
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required + Booster - Medical/Religious Exemptions only
