Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Providence, RI
Contract Duration: 12 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Day Shift
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Call Requirement: None
Float Requirement: As needed within the RN skillset
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 12-week contract assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring progressive or intermediate-level monitoring and treatment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to PCU patients based on individualized care plans.
Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, cardiac status, and changes in clinical condition.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
Perform comprehensive assessments and document patient care in the medical record.
Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Float to other units within the RN skillset as needed based on patient census.
Requirements
Current and active RN license.
Recent PCU/Progressive Care nursing experience.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work 12-hour day shifts.
BLS certification required.
Flexibility to work every other weekend and float as needed.
