Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care for a contract assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry and medical-surgical patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient bed placement. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality standards.
Manage an average patient assignment of approximately 5:1 while delivering safe, high-quality care.
Requirements
Active RN license.
Minimum recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
Previous experience caring for boarded patients in an Emergency Department setting required.
Experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred.
Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification.
Successful completion of telemetry competency testing during onboarding.
Additional Information
Orientation offered weekly.
Any color scrubs permitted.
Minimal time-off requests will be considered and must be disclosed at submission.
Candidates must be able to work effectively in a high-volume environment with approximately 40 boarding patients daily.
Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly for the duration of the assignment.
