Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU
Start Date: September 30, 2026
Contract Length: 8 Weeks
Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend or more, based on unit needs and candidate availability
Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
On-Call Requirement: None
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent critical-thinking abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality, family-centered developmental care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level III neonatal intensive care to premature and critically ill newborns, including infants born at 22+ weeks gestation.
Monitor and manage patients requiring CPAP, mechanical ventilation, UVC lines, and other advanced neonatal interventions.
Assist and provide neonatal support during high-risk deliveries in Labor and Delivery as needed.
Deliver strong developmental and family-centered care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Respond appropriately to changes in patient conditions and provide emergency interventions when necessary.
Collaborate with physical therapists, nutritionists, speech therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Float or be reassigned to pediatric or maternity units to provide newborn care if required by patient census.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of recent Level III NICU experience.
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse license as required by the state.
Certification: Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.

The NICU provides advanced care for critically ill and extremely premature newborns.
The unit utilizes state-of-the-art technology and supports a multidisciplinary team approach.
There are no surgical neonatal patients in this unit.
All compliance and credentialing requirements must be fully completed before the start of the assignment.
