Description
Minimum 2 years of RN Telemetry experience
First-time travelers not accepted
BLS required
EPIC experience required
Telemetry experience required
Ventilator experience required
Charge nurse experience required
High-acuity Med Surg experience
Experience with central lines and IV starts
Ability to titrate Cardizem, Heparin and Insulin
TPN experience
Tracheostomy and chest tube/drain experience
Wound care and wound vac experience
PEG tubes and tube feedings
Surgical/post-op care experience
Patient Population
COPD
Chest pain
Heart failure
Diabetes
Cellulitis
Chronic trachs
Ventilated patients
Wounds
Post-cardiac cath patients
Surgical patients
Ratios:
Days/Eves: 1:4–5
Nights: 1:6–7
Additional Details
Travelers may care for ventilated patients
3-hour ventilator class provided by Respiratory Therapy
Additional orientation with vent patients
Travelers are first to float
Floating may include other Med Surg units and ED holding
Free parking
Scrubs: Any color except camo/denim
No on-call requirement
