Description

Unit Capacity: 30 Beds Population Served: Designated Stroke Unit. Population is primarily stroke patients. Also has some general medical surgical patients that are mixed in to compensate for times where there is a lower stroke volume. Ages of Patients Served: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+) Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6 Core Staffing Plan: Variable staffing grid to include: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team. ; Floating Between Units/Facilities Travelers may be asked to float to different units or facilities within a 35-mile radius of their original assignment. Floating will be based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Travelers will always be notified before their scheduled shift if a float assignment is required.
