• Hours: 8 Hours per Day
• Shift Time: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-Call: May be required based on departmental needs
• State License Required: Active Washington Pharmacist License
• Certifications Required: BLS
• Experience Required: Infusion and Oncology Pharmacy Experience
• Preferred Experience: Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) Experience and Beacon EMR Experience
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist with a strong background in infusion and oncology services for a critical need contract assignment. The Pharmacist will be responsible for providing safe, accurate, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing oncology and infusion therapies, possess strong clinical judgment, and demonstrate proficiency in oncology treatment protocols and medication management systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Review, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and established pharmacy protocols.
• Prepare and oversee the dispensing of infusion and oncology medications.
• Evaluate medication regimens for appropriateness, safety, efficacy, and potential drug interactions.
• Monitor patients receiving infusion and oncology therapies and provide clinical recommendations as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Maintain accurate medication records and clinical documentation.
• Participate in medication safety initiatives, quality improvement activities, and pharmacy audits.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and healthcare staff regarding medications and treatment plans.
• Assist with inventory management, medication procurement, and controlled substance monitoring as required.
Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Washington State Pharmacist License.
• Current BLS certification.
• Recent experience in infusion and oncology pharmacy practice required.
• Beacon system experience required.
• Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of oncology treatment protocols, chemotherapy preparation, and infusion therapy management.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Skills
• Oncology and infusion therapy expertise.
• Clinical medication management and pharmacokinetics knowledge.
• Experience with electronic medical records and oncology-specific software platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced clinical environment.
