Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing critical or life-threatening cardiac conditions. This role requires expertise in cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and the management of complex cardiac patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
The Telemetry RN works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety while maintaining clinical excellence during night shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly respond to abnormalities.
Assess, monitor, and manage patients’ hemodynamic status.
Administer prescribed cardiac medications and telemetry-approved intravenous drips.
Recognize early signs of deterioration, shock, and other life-threatening complications, initiating appropriate interventions.
Assist with emergency and elective cardioversions.
Support the insertion and management of temporary pacemakers.
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Document patient care accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintain adherence to hospital policies, patient safety guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
Minimum experience in telemetry or cardiac step-down nursing (preferred per facility standards).
Strong proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Experience managing cardiac drips and hemodynamically unstable patients.
BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
Excellent critical thinking and rapid response skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
