Olympia, WA

About

As Washington State's capital city, Olympia offers an ideal mix of cultural and natural attractions. Its unique downtown waterfront offers diverse shopping and dining venues, with Percival Landing Park at its heart. The Park provides some of the best views of the Olympic Mountains, the marina, the Capitol building and the area's abundant wildlife. Watch for sea otters, seals, bald eagles and even the occasional pod of orca whales as part of the area’s natural splendor. It also serves as a hub for special events and public celebrations like the annual Olympic Harbor Day Festival held over Labor Day Weekend, one of the largest maritime festivals in the state. Paddleboarding, sailing, boating and fishing for salmon or sea-run cutthroat trout are all popular pursuits. Visitors and residents often gather at the year-round Olympia Farmers Market for live music and browsing handcrafted items, baked goods, fresh local produce and shellfish like oysters and clams.
