Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Texas Physical Therapist license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Outpatient physical therapy experience preferred. Candidate should have experience evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and documenting per clinic and payer requirements.
  • Experience with functional outcome measures, goal writing, and letters of medical necessity preferred.
  • Ability to supervise and delegate to therapy assistants and students preferred.
  • Maintain professional licensure and meet state-mandated continuing education requirements.


Assignment Details

  • Facility type: Outpatient.
  • Duration: 13 week assignment.
  • Shift pattern: 5x8 schedule (days).
  • Specific days and hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday with hours noted as 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Standard Job Description

Evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Delegates and directs discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients. Designs functional treatment programs to support return to community activities. Serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers. Completes timely, accurate documentation including evaluations, goals, progress notes, and required outcome measures. Ensures care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within payer approvals as indicated.


Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organizational mission and core values. Adheres to professional codes of conduct and confidentiality requirements. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and professional development. Promotes patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and prevention of slips, trips, and falls.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in outpatient orthopedic settings preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and charge entry preferred.
  • Experience precepting students preferred.
