Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join as a traveling Physical Therapist in Highlands, NC where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. This role supports inpatient rehab services in a hospital setting with a rehab-focused caseload and access to a large, fully equipped rehab gym.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active North Carolina state physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prefer a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, ideally with inpatient or rehab-focused hospital experience.
• Experience with electronic documentation systems. Cerner experience preferred.
• Ability to evaluate and treat hospital-admitted patients with a strong rehabilitation treatment focus (not eval-only).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a critical access or swing-bed hospital environment.
• Familiarity with lift equipment and large outpatient/inpatient rehab gym modalities.
• Prior experience providing therapy in non-traditional spaces, including outdoor settings or simulated home-kitchen/laundry setups.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 08:00–16:30.
• Set schedule of Monday through Friday.
• Workflow expectation: approximately one patient per hour; focus on treatment.
• Documentation system: Cerner.
• May be required to float to an on-site long-term care location in the same building when needed.

The position contributes to high-quality inpatient rehab care in a critical access hospital with a predominantly swing-bed population. The unit supports hands-on treatment with access to all lift equipment, a large rehab gym with new rehab kitchen and laundry setups, and opportunities for outdoor therapy. The team structure includes CNAs and a dedicated rehab tech support during select hours. Documentation is completed in Cerner.
