Description
Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a traveling Physical Therapist team in Tucson, AZ at a hospital setting where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. The role includes evaluating patients, developing and modifying treatment plans, directing discipline-specific therapy services, and educating patients, families and students. Maintain professional licensure and comply with state practice acts and hospital policies. Complete timely, accurate documentation and participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning and performance improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Arizona state license or ability to obtain required state license prior to start.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience providing inpatient hospital physical therapy services, including evaluations, plan of care development, and discharge planning.
- Competence in documentation of daily notes, goal writing, letters of medical necessity, and discharge documentation in accordance with hospital and payer requirements.
- Ability to supervise and educate students and assist with clinical education as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an acute care or hospital rehabilitation environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with safe patient handling practices and equipment.
Assignment Details
- Part-time schedule, approximately 8–24 hours per week.
- Shift pattern: 2x8 (two 8-hour shifts per week).

Impacting Patient Care
Provide patient-centered care by completing comprehensive evaluations and developing functional treatment plans focused on discharge goals. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address barriers to discharge, ensure timely equipment trials and orders, and provide patient and family education including home exercise programs. Adhere to organizational safety practices including safe patient handling, infection control, and workplace safety. Maintain professional development and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
