Description
Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Provide skilled Physical Therapy services in a hospital setting in Alexandria, VA. Evaluate assigned patients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and coordinate discipline-specific therapy services to support functional return to community activities. Delegate and direct therapy services as appropriate. Educate patients, families, students, and coworkers. Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Maintain professional licensure and adhere to state practice act and facility standards. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Virginia physical therapy license required to start assignment.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
- Experience providing physical therapy services in an acute care or hospital environment preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in comprehensive patient evaluation, goal writing, and development of interdisciplinary discharge plans.
- Ability to complete accurate and timely documentation including daily notes, discharge summaries, and letters of medical necessity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel or per-diem experience in hospital settings preferred.
- Experience supervising students or mentoring clinicians preferred.
- Additional certifications in safe patient handling or specialty clinical areas preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift pattern: 5x8 day schedule.
- May be required to float to other facilities as needed.
