Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient

Make a real difference as a travel PTA in Rockwall, TX. You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, safe patient handling, and adherence to clinic policies and infection control procedures. You will implement treatment goals established by the Physical Therapist and assist with interventions including posture training, strengthening, balance and coordination exercises, gait training with assistive devices, use of therapeutic modalities, and patient and family education. You will document patient progress, recommend equipment, participate in team conferences, and contribute to quality improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active Texas PTA license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred.
• Ability to perform safe patient handling and follow infection control procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, iontophoresis, whirlpool, paraffin, and TENS.
• Experience training patients in use of orthotics, prosthetics, and mobility devices.
• Previous experience in performance of documentation and participation in interdisciplinary team conferences.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: 5x8.
