Description
Make a real difference as a travel PTA in Alexandria, VA. You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. Start as soon as available and contribute to a clinic-focused team environment that emphasizes patient and employee safety.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Active Virginia state license or ability to obtain required state license prior to start.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience working in outpatient settings preferred.
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and equipment used in outpatient therapy, including whirlpools, hot/cold packs, paraffin, ultrasound, TENS, and gait training devices preferred.
- Ability to implement treatment plans established by a Physical Therapist and document patient progress.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
- Experience training patients in use of orthotics, prosthetics, and durable medical equipment preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift pattern: 5x8.
- Typical daily schedule reported as 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Impacting Patient Care
You will implement treatment goals and assist with therapeutic interventions such as posture training, strengthening, endurance training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief techniques, and functional skills training. Duties include training patients in gait and use of assistive devices, demonstrating modalities, monitoring patient responses, documenting progress, educating patients and families on body mechanics, and participating in team conferences and quality improvement projects. Adhere to clinic safety, infection control, and documentation standards.
